Sand Creek Training and Tack-

XXXXXXXXXXX Horses/Ponies and Tack Sales for all

Sadly I need to announce the passing of my beloved PIXIE'S AVENGER. Pixie came to us in 1987 when he was skin and bones and they were racing him that way. WE trained him by letting him walk from feed bucket to grass to feed bucket. After getting him fat and shiny and healthy , we put him back into race training. HE was ONE OF A KIND the kind you don't come across all the time. He was so appreciative of what we did for him, he was featured on the front page of the racing form three different times, went and won over six races for us, and had a heart of gold .  I bought the farm that I am at, because I wanted a place to retire the Pix , and sadly to say Pix passed away in May of 2008 in his own pasture , where his soul was put to rest.  He will have a bouquet of roses on him as he died a champion and as one gal said, Lisa, he won one more race, and that was the race to heaven.  I cant speak no more at this time as the tears are still rolling down the face.  Pix you are gone, but NEVER EVER will be forgotten !!!  I LOVE YOU !!!!

I regret to say that my beloved Easter Evening, aka Munchies, passed away on November 16, 2008.  I got my home email name because of her.  Munchies and Pixie were my two very special horses, the reason SAND CREEK TRAINING CENTER is even in existence, so that I could retire them and they never had to go anywhere , except where they did, greener pastures.   We will see you again soon, but in the meantime, my heart is empty as well as Reluctant Buck who is the last one left of the three. We all miss you Pixie and Munchies

Others that have also found Pixie up in greener pastures is my dog TWERP. Twerp was a blue heeler cross , that was born here 14 years ago.  She was the best dog one could ever have and my partner saw her at 3 PM again at 3:30 PM and when he went to put the dogs on their chains Twerp has not been seen since.  She had her winter blankie on and have seen no sign of that either. Twerp, we would love to give you the proper closure that you SO WELL DESERVE and hopefully one day, we will find your body and do so, but at the time we know your soul is up in heaven. We will see you again , Im sure

WE have also been unfortunate to lose my 39 year old gelding FRECKLES who was my own personal riding horse , although Sand Creek owns 20 head of horses, Freckles was my bud.  He babysat me everywhere , after lack of riding for so many years.  SInce his passing I have never and never again will sit on another as great as he.

Stevie was our pride and joy race prospect, who colicked and the vet ran the tube up the wrong spot where Stevie bled to death. Stevie you and the others are buried in the big pasture and you are right by the big tree so that I can call your name and always think of you

Carolina was a rescue that came to us from the Carolina's. She had a soft palate and everything she would eat and drink would come out her nostrils. She was a sweetie though and will be sadly missed.  Her companion , our stud Sandy, still wonders where you are !!!

Didi was a buckskin mare that we rescued from the Sallisaw horsesales. Although she was ruined head wise riding wise, she was the best babysitter
She too went to sleep and just never woke up, along with Shorty the 40 year old pony. You both were special in your own ways.

Nukie- OH GOSH what can I say about you ???  You and I , never had a true liking for each other, but you and Duffy were one of a kind.  Nukie won races in England and the US and was rescued when previous shipper got him hurt and refused to take care of him.  Duffy rescued Nukie and NUKIE knew he was well loved.  He got in an accident a couple of winters ago (around 2006) where he broke his nasal cavity  but Dr Kohlar of Praque Vet Clinic and Duffy put him back together !!   Nukie , as said you and I werent best of buds but you are still sadly missed.

MISS AMERICAN PIE- oh what a sweetie she was. She was purchased as a lesson horse and taught many many lessons.  She was sweet and loveable and I would sing around the farm, Pie Pie Miss American Pie,  Pie was a chestnut mare blazed face and high whites.  Pie was sadly put out of misery when she could no longer hold her own.

BURPS- OH MY BABY GOAT !!  WE saved her when she was just a tiny thing and would sit in the corner and just burp all the time, one of the students called her burps and it kind of stuck !!!  Burps was hurt when a worker didnt follow our directions and Burps got in between two ponies. Burps crawled around for many many years on her knees, until her heart just gave out. She is buried in the back with Didi and Shorty

Sadly I always think life will go on and never stop , so many I dont even have pictures of, but will see what I can find to add to their tributes.

Thanks to all of you kind loving souls , you will be missed BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

Good Bye Shawky, we will miss you

I am sorry to report on Dec 28, 2008 at `1:25 PM  SHAWKLIT SUGAR was sadly put out of his misery.  Shawky had a major coffin roatation as well as other complications and was a major cribber.  Shawky was rescued from a killer auction in 1993 and was on his way to the killer plant , as noone wanted a stud horse. His pedigree was superb , being of AIR FORBES WON and out of a PROVE OUT mare, one of the only horses that ever beat Secretariat. He was never raced as I wanted him for breeding, and he produced some nice quality show  horses INC FOLLOW THE BUCK as you will see in this picture.   Shawky was not your typical stud and anyone could handle him.  He was best friends with BURPS (our goat who is also now deceased) and will be buried right along side Burps, so they can remain friends in greener pastures.   Shawky had about 8 babies on the ground, all with excellent temperments and great conformation.   We will miss Shawky but at least he no longer is in any pain and he can eat as he did before this all happened to him.   Shawky WE LOVE YOU , take care of all your friends up in GODs LANDS !!
